About Dr. Levine

Welcome to my website. I am a licensed psychologist who is uniquely trained as an individual and couples therapist and psychoanalyst. This training helps me understand the individual in the context of their important relationships. 


I retired as of September 30, 2020.  I feel grateful for the 

34 years I have worked in a profession that I Ioved. Thank you to my patients who have trusted me and been willing  to work deeply to change. You have taught me so much.

Psychotherapy: A Tool that Can Help

There are many forms of psychotherapy that can benefit you, including long-term insight oriented therapy and short-term goal directed therapy. There are also therapies designed to help your couple or family relationships.  

DEPRESSION CHECKLIST

  • I feel blue or down in the dumps most of the time
  • Things I used to enjoy don't feel enjoyable now
  • I can't get motivated to do very much
  • I often feel discouraged and hopeless
  • I often feel angry and negative about my life
  • Everthing takes too much effort
  • I feel guilty much of the time
  • My friends and family tell me I'm sad and upset too often
  • It scares me that I have suicidal thoughts or fantasies about ending my life

ANXIETY CHECKLIST

  • I do repetive behaviors to make me feel better  (checking doors and windows, counting, rearranging things)
  • My superstitions control my life

  • I have persistent and unwanted thoughts that intrude in my mind

MARITAL/COUPLES THERAPY: Why wait until it's too late

If you answer yes to most of the following, you probably have a healthy relationship:

  • I look forward to coming home to see my partner
  • My partner is my best friend
  • We share many of the same values, hopes and dreams
  • We can have different opinions and disagree without disrespecting each other
  • We manage to find solutions to difficult problems
  • Despite our ups and downs, I'd still pick my partner again
  • I feel supported by my partner and he/she feels the same way


If you answer yes to one or more of these items, you might benefit from couples/marital therapy

  • We have problems communicating
  • We recycle old arguments and harber resentments
  • We constantly bicker but rarely resolve the problem
  • We fight about the children and undermine each other as parents
  • We often argue about each other's families
  • I often feel lonely and unsupported

  • Trust has been violated and is too hard to re-estabish
  • One of us feels bullied and controlled
