Welcome to my website. I am a licensed psychologist who is uniquely trained as an individual and couples therapist and psychoanalyst. This training helps me understand the individual in the context of their important relationships.
I've been practicing psychology, writing and teaching in California since 1987. I am very active professionally and have served on the Ethics Committee and as a past president of the San Diego Psychological Association. Volunteerism is very important to me and I currently serve on the Board of Directors of a non-profit charity in my community.
Most people come to therapy because of anxiety, depression, addictions, medical problems and relationships difficulties. My approach is to work with my patient's goals to resolve their conflicts and lead happier lives.
Three core beliefs guide my work. First, I believe that everyone can change if you are willing to put in the time and effort. Second, I believe in the importance of working on significant relationships, especially the family of origin. Third, is the importance of balance between work and play.
Specialization: Depression and anxiety related to self-esteem, relationships, work, and medical issues.
